Our final year to participate in the Lantern Parade. It was bitter-sweet as nothing went as planned. Even the after party didn't go as I had expected... None the less I had a blast seeing all the elaborate floats and costumes by future artists and designers of UP Fine Arts.
I'm a photographer who shoot weddings. But to say that that's all I'm interested in doing is really not accurate. Before shooting beauty, I used to shoot the real and occasional violent news for the school paper in UP, the Philippine Collegian. I'm used to shooting under the sun walking with the mob and being in between the police and the protesters.
But to say that I find weddings easier is another misnomer. It is challenging, really challenging. But it is really fulfilling at the same time. Selfishly, I live for that perfect shot of the interactions between the bride and the groom. There is that perfect, and truly honest moment where their eyes meet and the bride gives out a little smirk saying "Yeah, this is really happening. I can't believe it. I love you."
I believe in simple, natural, and real photography. I want to keep things light and relatively free flowing. For me, that is the best way to make the most beautiful images of a wedding day. I want YOU the couple to remember YOUR day and not how great I am with a camera. It's not as easy as it sounds because at the end of the day I want the photos to be beautiful yet simple enough not to be a distraction to the real story: your wedding day. Simple, Natural, and Real = Truly Timeless.
